Getting Started

Special Features:

Disconnection Protection – At African Palace Poker, we know how frustrating it can be to be disconnected in the middle of the game which you have a good chance of winning… Our software has the ability to remember your hand if you are suddenly disconnected. This hand will then be taken into account at the end of the game, where you will go All-in at the time of disconnection.

In order to access this unique piece of play protection, you will need to access the ‘Request Disconnection Protection’ button to contact one of our customer support specialists, who will then ensure that these privileges are assigned to you.

Displayed Location – Interested in knowing who you are playing with? The Displayed Location feature displays the location of each player as well as where they are seated at the Poker table. The player can set his or her location using the ‘Display’ option in the ‘My Account’ section of the Cashier’s window. You could, of course, choose not to display your location at all.

Hand History – Have you ever wanted to go back over the hands that you have played and relook at them? At African Palace Poker we have a ‘Hands History’ feature, which allows you to view the details of your individual hands. All of your hands are listed on the left hand side of the screen and it is as easy as clicking on the hand you want to see in order to view it in full. All of the older hands are denoted by their darker background.

This ‘Hand History’ file is stored on an XML file on your computer. To access this folder, you need to:

  1. Go to the folder on your computer where the Poker room has been installed
  2. Click on the History subdirectory
  3. Click on the subdirectory that bears the same name as your user name

Please note that there is a separate folder for the tournament and table history which you can access in the same way as the above.

At African Palace Poker, we believe that our players should be able to find the information they need at the click of a button. To give you more insight into the hands that you have played, our Poker room’s ‘Hand History’ file also includes the following information:

Table – the name of the table that you played this hand on

Hand Number – this is a unique hand number that is used to identify each individual hand

Game Time – the exact date and time of the hand in question – this would be shown in GMT + 2

Type – the type of game that you were playing for this particular game – this includes information on if the game was PL Hold’Em, NL Omaha and the blinds.

Bet – this provides you with information on the total amount of money that was bet during each hand

Win – information on how big the pot was and how much money was won on this hand

Players – how many players participated in the hand

The main part of the screen shows information about the hands and the actions of the individual players. The ‘Hand History’ does not show the hand of a player who folded without revealing his cards. The page also features a ‘Back’ button to return you to the previous page, as well as an ‘Update Local Information’ button that refreshed the hand history.

The Cash Table History screen allows you to view the results of the hands that you have played recently, with the added feature of being able to search for specific hands, periods and tables. The only restriction is that the start date and end date can be no more than 30 days apart. The ‘Table Name’ function can be used to filter out only those hands that were played at a particular table and the ‘Last Sessions’ option displays the last 5, 10 or fifty times that you have played, overriding the date filters on the Cash Table History screen.

‘Show Sessions’ is a function that displays information about the table, the start date, duration and type of game. It also includes the bets, wins and hands that were played.

Tournament History – Sometimes it is handy to be able to look back at the tournaments that you took part in recently. This function allows the player to search through all of the tournaments within a specific time frame, those with a particular name or the last few times that you have participated.

The start and end date filters allow you to specify which time period you are interested in but it is restricted to within 30 days. The tournament name option allows you to search for only those tournaments with a particular name and the last tournaments filter simply displays the last few times that you have participated in tournaments.

Once you have selected the criteria you want to have a look at, the ‘Show Tournaments’ button will open a screen with the desired results. The information will include the tournament name, the start date, place and buy in.
